Finally caught Evan Almighty with piggy, @ Bishan GV on Tues, after much recommendation from my friends and other bloggers.
Took the chance to utilize the new online membership (they sent to my email) and got the tickets for S$6.50 each.
After 1.5months of no-movies, got to watch something hilarious.
I loved Bruce Almighty and was dying to watch it, when i caught the trailers.
Newly-elected to Congress, Evan leaves the city of Buffalo and herds his family to suburban northern Virginia. Once there, his life turns upside-down when God appears and commands him to build an ark. However, his befuddled family just cannot decide whether Evan is having an extraordinary mid-life crisis or is truly onto something of Biblical proportions.
One would have never expected Evan (Steve Carell) to turn into Noah, as he just joined congress, became a politician, is the biggest neat freak and is pretty whiny.
There was quite a few ‘sight gags’, like ‘Ark Building for Dummies’, the ’40year old Virgin Mary’ and the name tag was ‘ Al Mighty’.
In all, it is a nice family movie, reminding us about the small things in life, eg. doing a good deed a day and spending time with the family. Things that make a difference, help change the world (your world especially).
Although it’s nice, i still prefer Bruce Almighty over this movie.
Guess i’m bias, as i love Jim Carrey’s silly and hilarious antics/acting more.
Rating: 2.5 / 5
It’ll tickle your funny bone, if you get the jokes and sight gags.
Check it out only during the weekdays.
