I’ve received a few interesting versions of Singaporean “Cows & Religions”…
Here they are…
1) A Singaporean.
You never owned any cows. You are told you owned two and they can be taken away anytime. You have to feed the cows and milk them yourself. And the government taxes you on the milk you get, so they can help those poor people who can’t milk them as well. And they take credit for the quality of the milk you get.
The gover-min tells you that you owned two cows (which can be taken away anytime). You have to buy the grass to feed the cows you don’t really own and pay 7% of tax for it. This tax is for the gover-min to ‘help’ those people whose cows are less healthy and productive. On top of that you have to milk the cows yourself for the milk and the gover-min takes some of the milk you get. The gover-min also take credit for the quality of the milk and rewards themselves so much milk in one year that they can’t drink them all in a lifetime so the gover-min won’t be stealing your milk.
1) A SINGAPORE CORPORATION:
You have two cows. The police will arrest you cos you don’t have permit.
1) A Singaporean
You have two cows. They can be taken from you anytime because even though you think you own them, they’re only on a 99 year lease and can be revoked at their pleasure.
You cannot bring your cows out to graze because you tried to get a permit but failed, and on the way back home you get fined for illegally parking your cow, and for clogging up the traffic.
Not to mention, somehow you managed to trigger the ERP system, and get fined again for not having a cashcard in your cow.
If you have thought up a new version, do share with me.
I’ll post it up =)
Note: These are jokes!
