Day off at ION

After an exhausting week at work, had my day off and met up with friend…
To check out ION, newest / latest shopping mall in Orchard…

First, lunch.

We settled for Aoba Ramen, with pretty decent ramen (esp. the Shoyu Tontoro’s soup, IMHO) and unique interior design.

Here’s a pic of chili crab (chilli + crab from hokkaido) and my Tontoro ramen…

Next, we explored the whole mall, or at least the parts which were opened…

To summarize, the first 4 levels are more for the big spenders, who wouldn’t mind forking out hundreds or thousands for a bag or shoes,  for good food and other stuffs.
The basement 4 levels are clothing / accessories / facial retail outlets, restaurants, teleco outlets… etc and the train station.

After our ‘exploring’ and getting through the crowd (it’s amazingly crowded on pre-weekend aka Friday afternoon), settled at Marvelous Cream, for some desserts and milkshakes.

We both quite liked the green tea tiramisu, but was wondering where’s the JIU! or rum for tiramisu…
I guess the rum would have killed or overpowered the green tea taste 😛

Love the rum and raisin milkshare and the dessert (tiramisu) was quite interesting.
Would love to go back there soon, to try their ‘Mont Blanc’ and Creme Brulee 🙂

And lastly, sneak shot of CC, looking thru the menu…

Thanks CC…
For checking out and bringing me around the crowded mall 🙂

Thoughts:
I’ll probably go back, to get chips and cheesecakes from the organic marketplace / supermart upstairs and to try the other jap restaurants… only when it’s less crowded or flooded with people.
