Spotted this event while flipping through TimeOut magazine… Didn’t know that DD was talking about this event when we were planning when to head down to Ikea. Anyway, this year’s theme (as quoted from site): The theme for ArchiFest ’09, “Architecture for Humanity”, expresses our ambition to reconsider one of the fundamental purposes of creating architecture – to celebrate and embrace the concept of humanity. In the midst of frantic urbanisation, a proliferation of globalised one-size-fits-all solutions, and the ubiquitous production of icons, have architects, intentionally or not, forsaken their duty to create architecture for people? There will be tours, exhibitions, fringe events and competitions… So many things to do, so little time… >.<
Was flipping through the latest TimeOut magazine and came across this event. For those who love animations and short films, do check out Animation Nation 2009. Tickets are going at S$10 for each film and S$15 for the workshop. Several interesting ones (which i find interesting and probably watch): – Usavich – Genius Party Beyond – Best of Studio AKA Oh, there’s a Singapore Showcase this weekend (10 Oct, tomorrow). From 4 – 5pm, at Library@Esplanade. And it’s free admission.
