Event: Clean And Green Singapore 2010

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

It’s a 3 day event at HortPark, fun-filled and educational activities that promote environmentally-friendly practices such as using energy-efficient appliances, taking public transport, recycling and more.

Seems like day 2 & 3 (Sat & Sun) will be packed with more events.
Do take the public transport or free feeder bus service, if you are heading there.

Dilemma, or not.

Have been a Pixon M8800 user for the last 6 months and honestly, it’s a good phone for my basic needs.

Although it doesn’t have wifi and xenon flash, which my mobile bb plan and picasa made up for, it did provide decent web surfing, works well as a mp3 player and good quality photos that would put most compact cameras to shame. Cons, no full games, rss reader get stuck at 50feed, sucky battery life and doesn’t have a proper manual.

Manual?
Yes, having one (be it offline or online) is helpful, esp. when there’s no help on how to divert your calls to another number, which i spent 30mins figuring it out where the heck that function is.

But as always, needs change over time…
Based on my last overseas usage & bill, which hit all time high in 5years, i need a phone which has wifi functions, better battery life and able to produce better photos.

Possible solutions:

Even though i was looking forward to Pixon 12 release and getting it, I did considered the SE Saito, with similar functions and making it harder to choose from the two of them. And I always have a soft spot for SE phones, due to its phone aesthetics and good photo quality. After all, each one of my SE phones had served me well.

Had the chance to try Pixon 12, thanks to Nicole.
Thoughts on it, as followed:

Like it due to:
- 12 mega pixel (same as Saito)
- wifi function (same as Saito)

Didn’t like the:
- silver rim around the phone, very pron to scratches
- lock function, doesn’t work very well
- auto focusing still buggy (carried over from M8800)

Unsure:
- if the rss feeder issue was addressed
- battery life issue
- didn’t quite like the feel of the phone

They are both going at the same price, around S$498 with 2 year plans (high end plans).

Well, they are both possible solutions to my needs.
Dilemma, or not?

Guess i’ll only know after trying out Saito, for myself.

Day out @ Ikea…

Was at Ikea earlier…
Checking out the small-scaled exhibit, of lightings fixtures made out of Ikea products.

Collage as attached:

Well, creative and unique pieces, which i wouldn’t mind having at home.
Cos i definitely can’t come up with such designs or ideas for lighting fixtures.

Just wondering why it’s sort of chucked away at one corner of the building…
Rather out of sight… *shrugs*

And of course, we wouldn’t missed the food.
Swedish meatballs~!

Other than loving their all-time fav. Swedish meatballs, the Stuffed Salmon was pretty good.
As for the desserts aka Princess cake and Punch cake, well i would say… acquired taste.

DD like both, i didn’t and probably wouldn’t try it again.

Not sure if it’s my taste buds or seemingly overpowering artificial taste.
Just didn’t like it… =/

Got the photo frame i wanted…
Before meeting the guys (Kor, Fox & Terence) for dinner.

Traffic jams due to discounted petrol…

Good news reached most local drivers, on a promotion for discounted petrol by one of the petrol companies.
No prizes for guessing, since it’s a dead give away with the picture attached (taken while passing thru) and the news article.

No doubt a good way to attract and give back to the consumers and possibly get them to switch to the brand…
But it becomes cumbersome when it triggers traffic jams and require auxiliary police to help direct traffic.

Couldn’t manage to get a better picture, as the bus was moving.

But basically there were almost 20 cars, queuing on the road, waiting for their turn…
Although the auxiliary police were there, the cars were still blocking the bus stop and stuck at the traffic lights…

Could there be a better way to it?
Or at least ease the queue and blocking?

My suggestion:
Try giving out exchange coupons (tag to their license plates) to those who are queuing and getting them to come back later, might help a little.

Just my 2cents.
