Filler: Night shot from the 57th floor
Well, silly me didn’t expect the view to be that great from my hotel room…
Since i’m without a tripod, i made do with what i had in the room…
Using the arm chair as a support, for a slow shutter shot, holding my breath for 15secs and trying to keep hands from shaking. One of the better ones, uncropped and unedited.
ISO: 1600
Exposure: 1.6 sec
Aperture: 4.0
Focal Length: 24mm
Flash Used: No
As for the white speck, i think it could have been dust particles stuck to the window.
I would definitely want to try taking such shots again, from the hotel i was staying (Baiyoke Sky Hotel, Bangkok) and with a very sturdy tripod. Hopefully in Dec or next year’s CNY.
*Cross fingers*

thanks π
well i’m still learning as well, but if you don’t mind, i could share some of the sites i’ve been reading up on and the settings i used.
for this night shot, the settings are as posted, slow shutter of 5″ to 10″ but you would need a sturdy tripod and a remote, click and just wait. if not, you’ll probably have to hold your breath (like i did) for quite sometime.

Nice capture of Bangkok night scene, ISO 1600 is good, can’t see much noise here!
Good to see that you can handheld for 1.6s π
Keep shooting & sharing !
