New Toy: Philips LED iCare Desk Light

Received this yesterday thru courier. Thanks to DK, because it’s part of his Dec giveaway items, and not forgetting the generous sponsor, Philips šŸ™‚

Yet to open it up but looks interesting, especially when there’s a USB port on its side and convenient light dimmer.

Since I can’t sleep due to dinner time caffeine, here’s the update (1.20am):

– comes with two USB ports for small gadget charging (e.g. mp3 players & phones)
– lightweight, sturdy base (flat sturdy rectangle base)
– pivoted elbow with 180degree rotatable arm (twistable from side to side and 100degree down to up)
– touch panel for 5 level gradual dimming (10dots on the panel, 2 will light up with each level)
– energy saving LED module (LED light bulb)
– package consist of 01 folded light, 01 wall charger and 02 simplified manuals

Aside from its sleek design and USB ports (which amuses me, for no apparent reason or simply put, i’m weird), it’s a desk light that provides ‘adjustable level for light’ option, which will be good / better for bedside reading.

As for the USB ports, I guess it’ll be useful if you aren’t using power plug extensions and hate having to unplug your lamp all the time or use multi plug adapter. For me, I doubt I’ll need it.
