News: Liang Court celebrates Konnichiwa Japan Fest 2013

19 April, 2013 – Taking inspiration from various cultural festivities in Japan happening from April to May, Liang Court will be organising Japan Fest 2013 to celebrate the arrival of Spring, the bloom season for Sakura and Kodomo No Hi (Japanese Children’s Day) on 5 May.

Ms Stephanie Ho, General Manager of AsiaMalls Management Pte Ltd, said: “As the mall manager of  Liang Court, AsiaMalls constantly creates and delivers unique shopping experiences for our customers. We have brought back our annual Japan Fest to provide shoppers with four weeks’ worth of reasons to bring family and friends to Liang Court to learn, appreciate and celebrate Japanese culture.”

Starting today till 12 May 2013, Liang Court celebrates Japan Fest with events and activities such as a first ever Eco-Fair (shopping, anyone? :D), MEIDI-YA Supermarket Food Street (*drools*) and Games Carnival (e.g traditional Japanese carnival games) as well as the Spring Hello Market (aka Japanese flea market, handmade / vintage / fashion items and performances by members of the Japanese community).

Activities as followed:

Eco-Fair will include:
• A main attraction during this fair will be the hundreds of Koinobori (Flying carp banners) on display within the mall. These Koinobori are made from recycled materials by students of Compassavale Sec, Edgefield Sec, Huamin Pri, Northbrooks Sec, Serangoon Sec and Yio Chu Kang sec.
• Keeping to the theme of the fair, eco-friendly apparel, accessories and even beauty products will be sold from creative booths run by “Eco-entrepreneurs”… e.g. light weight but sturdy paper earrings, cutesy stuff from Handmade Republic, Bamboobee bicycles and more!
• Other activities include performances by students of Northbrooks Secondary School and an Eco-Workshop conducted by students of Elias Park Primary School featuring Fish Art using recycled bottles as well as a D-I-Y Terrarium workshop.
