News: Google retiring Google Reader on July 1st

If you have yet to hear about it, here’s my extremely late post on it…

3 months ago, Google announced a piece of horrible news for Google Reader devoted users / fans, to retire it for good on 1st July 2013.
It came as a shock for most and we did go on for a day or two, on what we would do without it…

*insert “How Do I Live” by Leann Rimes*
(happened to be listening to it now, on Class95)

But I understood why (after the initiate shock, of course)…

For any businesses out there, something has to be done when the product usage is low…
And perhaps it was impossible to generate revenue from it, to justify the cost.

So… yes, in a week’s time, it’s gone for good.

My sincere thanks to the Google Reader team, who made it possible / user friendly / so darn useful.
For making it my favorite app / product from Google.

And the past weeks hasn’t been easy, trying to find a good RSS reader replacement…
But finally found something that’s close and works on all systems, which is – Feedly.

Give it a try, I quite like the website and mobile app layout.
A mix of Google Reader and Flipboard.
