Marvel’s “Thor: The Dark World” continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s “Thor” and “Marvel’s The Avengers,” Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness.
Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.
Ever wonder how it will feel like, to be responsible for safety or lives of your fellow men, love ones, country/nation or … the universe?
Sounds scary, right?
Imagined yourself in that position and you’ll get a little feel of what burden / responsibilities Thor is/has to live up to, in Thor: The Dark World.
Thanks to Disney Singapore, we caught the preview and I feel, this is a nice continual for Thor series (yes, this series = trilogy).
In this second movie, you will see Thor face the villainous and vengeful Malekith who is out to put the whole universe back into darkness… by any means.
An exceptionally annoying and tough villain, who enjoys being making everyone’s life miserable and sacrificing his people.
And of course…
How can we forget the smart scientist aka love interest of Thor, Jane Foster.
Thus a continual to their strangely ‘left dangling’ love story from the first movie.
Though I’m not a fan of their love story, it sure is sweet to finally see them sort their relationship out and have ‘save the universe’ / responsibility get in their way… again :p
And… as a fan of the devious / scheming Loki, it’s hard to not enjoy watching Thor approached Loki unwillingly with an offer to work together in the face of universe destruction. You would probably wonder if this odd alliance / truce will indeed save the world or crumble any second… And how trust between two brothers / enemies, is earned in such times.
There will be a handful of funny quotes and moments, which you’ll realize while watching 🙂
So… What I have shared might be extremely vague but that’s to exclude any major spoilers.
Hopefully it gets you curious and eager enough to catch it on the big screen before friends spoil it for you 🙂
Opens today, 31 Oct 2013, in cinemas!
Oh… and do stay for end credits, there are 2.
Decent plot, awesome graphics and funny bits, enough reason for me to re-watch it this Sat.
