Chin Boon Leng, a children’s book illustrator, was chosen as the winner for a charming shot of a baby Orang-utan peeking out from its Mother’s embrace titled “What are you staring at?” It was selected by a local panel of judges from over 1,300 entries by Singaporean photographers.
The local judges also awarded runner up positions to:
• 2nd place – Joyce Le Mesurier
• 3rd place – Daniel Chia
Talking about his success, Chin Boon Leng comments “I’m extremely honoured to be shortlisted as this is a global competition with so many talented photographers participating. To deserve such great recognition is definitely overwhelming, and I hope this will ignite fellow Singaporeans’ interest in photography.”
