Won a weekend stay voucher from Expedia’s Christmas 2013 giveaway (or lucky draw) and we got around to set a date & redeemed it last month.
Coincidentally, our stay date was the same day as my parents’ wedding anniversary which we spent celebrating for them… and making it a special date for us too.
Heh, more on that later.
Here are photos of the Fairmont Singapore Premier room we stayed in:
Check-in / out:
The check-in experience was pretty awesome.
Professional service from the friendly and chatty staff. He was made the check in process quick, took note that I had joined them as a Fairmont President’s Club member and explained the steps for WiFi service log-in, before we asked about it. The interesting bit is having to sign on an iPad, like a e-signature, without a ‘pen’. He was apologetic about not having the ‘pen’ as it seemed to be loaned out but it was fine. We joked if other guests’ kids wanted to play or game with it and he smiled and shared that it had happened before. It did took us a while to get the signature right and was amused by the process.
As for check out, it took less than a minute by simply returning them the cards.
I’m unable to recall which level or room number we stayed in but based on the photos, it should have been 8th or 9th floor… with a nice view (update: fiance said it should be the 11th floor / level).
The room was very spacious at 39sqm, might fit two more Super Single beds and still there could be space to walk around (not that it was necessary but just an example). As for the bathroom, it was well lit with rose scented toiletries provided, powerful rain shower (my fav!) and even a seat / tiled area to sit or place bath items on. Mini bar was well stocked, with payable items and complimentary Nespresso coffee capsules and Dilmah tea which we had, while having in-room break (we bought crepes and buns from Raffles City dining zone).
And of course, the free WiFi connection that came with the membership, which was useful and worked well even when we were on Stamford Hotel side.
Not included in our voucher but we weren’t hungry, after a buffet dinner treat for my parents from previous night. We opt for a good dip / swim in the circular pool while other guests had their breakfast before checking out.
A pleasant and enjoyable, for the good service and comfort.
We rate the experience a 9/10, by the overall feel of the hotel, room and service.
As for the return visit, perhaps during an anniversary or special occasion.
It’s a 5 star hotel in town and is a little premium in pricing but for the service and comfort, it’s worth its price.
It was our first staycation together, no doubt memorable…
But to add to it all, my bf or now fiance, proposed~
Which I will blog about it, the proposal, in posts to come once I stop procrastinating 😛
Photo credits to YFM (the fiance) 🙂
And lastly, thanks again to the Expedia team for the voucher 😀
