News: SingTel launches Asia’s first WiFi-integrated mobile plans

SingTel unveiled its latest range of mobile plans yesterday, fully integrated with a new premium high-speed WiFi network that it is rolling out at crowded locations and underground MRT stations.

The Combo plans are designed to meet consumers’ fast growing mobile data needs by offering high-speed WiFi usage in addition to 4G data bundle and as a launch promotion, customers will enjoy unlimited WiFi usage till 31 July 2015. Subsequently, all Combo plans will come with 2GB of WiFi data allowances.

Combo plan customers will be able to switch automatically between the 3G, 4G and SingTel WiFi network without a manual password login and to ensure customers always enjoy a high-speed and seamless experience, SingTel has permanently waived the 4G value-added service subscription charges.

The new Combo plans will provide customers with better value for money than existing plans, offering up to 200 minutes more local talktime and up to 500 more SMS messages.

Do take note – from 19 August 2014, the Combo plans will be replacing SingTel’s existing plans for customers who renew their contracts or subscribe to new lines.

As for SingTel WiFi coverage, it will be available at more than 100 hotspots at 11 locations, including popular shopping malls such as Raffles City, Plaza Singapura, Junction 8, Funan Digitalife Mall, Bugis+, The Atrium and Changi City Point. SingTel will progressively roll out the network to all CapitaMall shopping centres.

  1. I am being smart of keeping my 2 $36 plan 12g data with m1. Moreover i still got 35% for that. After discount i pay only 23.40 for each line. I will never give up these 2 lines. No matter how. Do not sacrifice yr 12g data plan for palty 300 dlr hp subsidy. U can buy hp online at very cheap price.

    1. Glad that works for you but probably only a handful will follow your method.

      I suppose SingTel came up with this for those who are already off the 12gb plan or prefer to get the new phone while on plan at the same time.

      Which will be the same for other telcos, who have stopped the 12gb unlimited for lower end plans some time back.
