New: Camera accessories for this month

Okay, I got myself a couple of accessories before my upcoming CNY trip… A little add-on for accessories… Eg. 1) Lowepro Versapack 200 AW Definitely a worthy purchase, for its functionality. Lightweight, comes with rain cover and compartment for tripods. I’ve used it earlier today, for a macro walkabout with my photography friends (with the new macro lens) and vet through, before uploading the photos. It’s on offer at S$98 from Cathay Photos (without freebies). Thoughts or short review and photos on it, after i get back from my trip. 2) 8GB CF Card Put this on hold for quite a while and finally got it, as a spare / back up card. S$48. 3) 3rd party batteries Well, my…

New Toy: Canon 100mm f/2.8L Macro

Got myself a new lens / toy yesterday. It’s not a new retail price lens (around S$1,350) but an extremely fantastic condition second hand lens from Buy & Sell forum of Club Snap. Much thanks to the seller and his friend, for keeping this lens in amazing condition and letting it go for a good price. I guess like what most sellers said, my loss is your gain. But this gain, is too good to be true (still think so, even though it’s nicely lying in my dry cabinet)… 🙂 New macro lens = more macro photos = more creepy crawly and flower photos = more practice shoots! So… That’s one off my personal resolution list for 2011. 9 more…

Photos: first roll of B&W

It’s been more than a decade since i used a film camera, thus it took quite a bit of time for me to get used to my Clover San film camera while using Rollei Pan B&W roll of film (first roll and first time shooting B&W). Overly adventurous and taking too much risk, aren’t i? Hehe. Anyway i sent it to Triple D on Sunday to get it developed and collected it earlier. Really like the place and choice of films 🙂 I was pleasantly surprised to see it came out better than expected, since my expectation was – less than half to be visible but all 36 (38 to be exact) were developed and 30 of it were decent…

Gadget: Latest Temptation

Looking for a spare, after mom’s friend conveniently ‘killed’ / security locked my spare nokia 6300. All because he/she stubbornly and stupidly didn’t wanna install nokia driver into pc and wanted to use a spare nokia phone to transfer phone numbers. In short, it’s not worth to pay for unlocking, plus it had froze during conversations and gibberish appeared while surfing. And i need something which is not too expensive for trips, to reply work emails… (too many things to justify the temptation). So… here’s the latest temptation spare i’m looking to get: Nokia E5 in Skyblue. QWERTY phone and Blackberry lookalike. Released yesterday and going for less than S$400 (w/o contract), decently priced and i wouldn’t need to pay…

Gadget – 35mm Film Scanner

Credits to Ebay salepage Saw this a couple of weeks back, while researching on film developing and its cost… and trying to find out if there’s a way to have a digitized copy. I think it’s going for around 120sgd after conversion and shipping, decent price to get everything digitized and for easy online sharing. Definitely cheaper than the rest i saw on Ebay Singapore (from S$150 – 300) and the Canoscan by Canon (S$200 – $500) but impossible to tell if it’ll be easy to use and its quality, just by looking at its specifications. Hmm… Well, KIV for now… 🙂
