All that glitters, is not gold.

A place I stepped into, a couple of hours ago, got me thinking of this saying (in a different way than its original meaning for valuable).

For it glitters and stood out on a wooden boardwalk, with lovely glass painting that would fit amazingly in a cathedral, a chillax ambience and soothing music, yet failed to impress…

Reason:
Extremely neglected customers.

Note:
If you know the place I’m describing or talking about, good for you.

Feel free to decide with your own experience if it was truly good or bad.

*****

If you read through past posts on my dining experiences, I tend to not touch on service or not be critical or harp on it, due to past work experiences in service industry.

But this, took the cake, icing included.

I understand the need to clean up and serve a huge group before us, a simple ‘kindly wait, as we do have a group waiting’ would have been nice.

But nothing, not even a nod of acknowledgement after 10mins of wait.

Not even after being seated, on our own.

After much waving, attention was given, orders taken but still another 10-15mins for a glass of wine and a pot of tea. While the other tables were promptly served and attention given.

When it was time to foot the bill, it came fast, so fast it left me feeling –>
（−＿−；）…

Somehow it left me wondering, was it our dressing (casual Friday, jeans and tees) that got us such warmth-less service or was it because we looked like students or were they trying to leave customers with privacy, yet forgot to take notice?

Whichever it may be, let this not deter you from a good chillax place with soothing ambience and music but be warned, of its lack in service.

I would revisit someday, at a timing with less crowd, just to try out the food and wine i missed earlier. And perhaps in hope, service will get better (not just based on my experience but including feedbacks found on 4sq).

It has always been an issue, to always have someone enforcing their way on me.
To them, there’s no other way, no work-around, no alternatives.

When I analyze the situations, there are tons of work-around and alternative, definitely loads of other ways.
But they don’t see it, hear it, feel it or listen.

Does it really have to be your way, to be the right way?
Or is it that you rather i conform to your needs and listen to you, as always?

But be it how i try to speak up and let you know, try to work by your way, it didn’t feel right.
Still doesn’t feel right, not because i’m fighting you…

But because you wouldn’t stop and consider an alternative to have the situation be different.
It could have been handled differently.

Guess that would never be how you work or think…
There’ll never be a right way and only way to love but to keep trying, understanding and forgiving.

I don’t know if i should be elated, amused or puzzled by the no. of spams for some Indonesian bank. Not that I’ve anything against the lovely country or the bank but the no. of annoying yet amusing spams does make me wanna go “HUH? Hmm…”.

Truthfully, I’ve seen better spamming tactics in the last couple of years, even the occasional post comments are more creative and trustworthy at times and not overly pushy but the recent ones, especially those that were on my tag box sure hit a new low.

For example:
- threatening to get website owners banned if their spam comments are not published or deleted
- copy and pasted links with no conversations or barely bothered words
- attempting to mask a spam blog with a legitimate bank’s information

It’s easy to remove your spamming comments, have your IP address tracked, have your domain details tracked and report the incident to your host.

Plus, I don’t see the need to spam when you are on Adwords.

Really…
Do as you may to get whatever money your spamming job is giving you, as long as no one is hurt or no monetary loss for others.

But if you are going to threaten me again and again, to get your way, you better make sure I’m not pissed off enough to track you down or send cops to your doorstep, for harassment and monetary loss (if any).

When I play nice, don’t fucking take it for granted.
Threats, just make me fight and hit you harder.

Updated:

Since you took the opportunity to spam non-stop last night, I did what i had to. Submitted feedback to Google Adwords.

To think a somewhat reputable router going at a discounted price would do great, what a mistake that had been.

Well, the router i got from IT show, Aztech Wireless-N router had been problematic or the cause of my wireless-less problem (eg. unable to get ip or connect but connection is okay when cable is directly connected from modem to desktop) for the past few days, aside from the faulty / inconsistent Motorola modem (inconsistent linkage from modem to desktop).

The Starhub tech guy came, switched a new Motorola SB6120 modem and now it’s working fine / smooth. As for the Aztech modem, he tried getting it connected, went through the admin page but still can’t get it working aka no ip and linkage (but my laptops are able to detect it). In short, very problematic.

Thankfully one problem down, many thanks to the tech guy.

At least one thing is for sure, I would stick to Linksys or better brands from now on, esp. seeing my last Linksys modem cum router not giving me any major issues and had been ‘alive’ for 3 years until this week.

Sigh, oh well.

Gonna go pick up a new one later.
Hopefully less or no problems.

Update:
Dad picked Dlink 655 router (wasn’t what i had in mind, wanted the WRT320N instead) and works immediately after 5mins of setting up, one of the easiest to setup (aside from my old linksys) , making it more obvious, there’s something wrong with that Aztech router.

Let’s see if it’ll work for my bro’s setup… hmm…
