Rant: Hosting frustration – Exabytes

I don’t often see the need to rant or review negatively online. The only other time I did that, was for a restaurant / bar along Sentosa Boardwalk for their lack of professionalism. This time, it’s for my annoying and unstable site / blog host – Exabytes. ***** The pre-sale and support service was/is great, having someone did the data migration and set up, saved me a helluva time and they have been really quick to solve the issues. But the annoyance, is for the continuous downtime for a Linux hosting server. ***** You might be thinking, it can’t be all that bad… Downtime is inevitable during server maintenance and sudden issues. But it can and it has, since I’ve experienced more…

WOTD: Conscientiously

Conscientious(ly) adjective: – governed by conscience; controlled by or done according to one’s inner sense of what is right; principled Definition as shown on dictionary.reference.com. The word has been the source of my giggle fits for the first half of today. All thanks to that document, i learnt how difficult it is to pronouce this word while reading quickly, clearly, as montonous as possible while keeping a straight face. Yes, the fiance and i flubbed, giggled on while reading the last paragraph. The clerk was very understanding, didn’t make us redo / reread the entire document… perhaps she was amused by our giggles and shared that others had flubbed as well. The funny moments, and surprisingly on a Monday 🙂…

Self: Vacation & HBD

To spend time with those whom I love and matter most to me… To find joy exploring cities and their food. And simply being away from daily stress triggers and doing random stuff, is my kind of vacation. – mille crepe from Maco Vintage cafe – caffe latte from Faculty of Caffeine And of course, thanks for all the well wishes! Yes, a year older, somewhat wiser and cheeky / naughty as always! Happy birthday to me 🙂

Self: On Wedding Preparations

A year ago, we were taking our time – looking at pre-wedding photography, choosing the dates and searching for a good restaurant to host the wedding dinner. One year later, we are rushing to get things done – e.g. photos ready, cards out, 过大礼 / betrothal items and little stuff ready for the wedding day. D -2mths++ *yikes* ***** Gonna list everything here like a checklist and work on it one at a time. What have been chosen / settled / done / paid for: Wedding day outfits & bridesmaids’ dresses (package bought – Kelly’s bridal & dresses purchase – theBMD) Hotel rooms (booked) Restaurant, theme and 90% of the menu Solemnizer (got our first choice~) AD photography & videography (selected and…

Photo: Relaxing weekend

Almost 4 months since I blogged about anything personal, stressed out by wedding preparation (e.g. invitation cards, schedule, actual day stuff) and busy with gaming. All that mad rush and stress, I’m thankful for the good and relaxing weekend. ***** It went well, settled some wedding stuff, e.g. the bridesmaid dresses and corsages at The BMD Shop (good selection of dresses, speedy response for appointment and friendly lady) and bounced some game ideas. After which, chatted with the jiemeis a little before we left for other appointments. Thanks to the girls, I felt that a load was off my mind and more at ease now. And of course, finally had the long overdue ME time… before spending some time with the fiance. ME…

Photo: New Toy – Sony Xperia Z3 Compact

Re-contract another mobile line and picked up the Xperia Z3 Compact last Friday, for my Android stand-by / replacement (own & use iOS and Android phones concurrently for work and personal stuff). S$199 top up under Starhub’s 4G 3 plan. – taken with the iPhone 6 with minimal edits The 4.6inch Z3 Compact fits nicely in my hands and after all, I don’t need another 5inch+ phone when I have the iPhone 6. As for the camera feature and speed, pretty decent images and fast loading / processing / toggling between apps. Water and dust resistant is part of my decision to get this. Aside from the charging flaps which I still fear I would snap them off from prolong direct microUSB charging, no…
